Paulius Klimas is a first-generation Lithuanian American human rights activist, author, and motivational speaker. His solo 1988 “Walk to the White House”, a 500-mile trek from Rochester, NY, helped free a Lithuanian dissident from a Soviet prison during Glasnost. Klimas also led a group of walkers across the Baltic States for independence in 1991.
In 1996, Klimas appeared as a male model in a Lithuanian Airlines advertisement in Lithuanian newspapers. He is fluent in Lithuanian and has worked as an interpreter for the Lithuanian Parliament in 1995. Paulius Klimas is a graduate of the University of Binghamton with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and has worked as a substitute teacher and shoe salesman in the United States.
This is a homemade movie entitled Believe in your Dreams. It was put together for Paulius Klimas from old video clips, radio interviews, and songs that where recorded about his walks for freedom and Lithuanian (Baltic) Independence.
